Prior to his service in Monroe, Saloom was a sheriff’s officer for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office. He is a member of the township SWAT team, part of the department’s honor guard, and was formerly with the fieldtraining program. He spent six months in the traffic safety unit and is currently a detective sergeant in the detective bureau. Saloom graduated in 2000 from the Somerset County Police Academy and later that year became a patrolman in Monroe. Lueng is a member of the township’s SWAT team, as well as a firearms instructor.

In July 2010, he became acting lieutenant in administration until his promotion later that year to lieutenant. Hays was promoted to sergeant in 2002 and served in the administration/service division until his transfer to the patrol division as patrol sergeant in 2007. Hays, who was promoted to captain, graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in finance in 1992 and joined the police department in 1996, first serving in the patrol division, according to information provided by the department.
